Privacy policy
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy (“Policy”). This Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide on the www.kamalama.org website (“Website” or “Service”), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your information and how you can access and update it.
By accessing and using the Website and Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Policy.
- Collection of information
Our top priority is customer data security and, as such, we exercise the no logs policy. We may process only minimal anonymised user data, only as much as it is absolutely necessary to maintain the Website and Services. KamaLama does not collect, process, or store any personally identifiable information. All information collected is anonymous, used solely to maintain website functionality and improve performance.
1.1. Provided health data
When you use our interactive test or BMI calculator, you may provide health-related information requested there. You do not provide direct personal identifiers such as your name, e-mail address, phone number or full address in order to use Website and Services. Because no direct identifiers are collected, the information you provide cannot be used by us to identify you as a specific person.
1.2. Analytics and cookies
With your consent via the cookie banner, we use third-party analytics tool Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect usage information about how the Website is used and to help personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. For further information on the cookies we collect and their purpose, see our Cookie Policy. This information cannot be linked to your health-related answers to determine your identity.
1.3. Automatically collected system data
We collect minimal technical information automatically to maintain and secure the Service and understand usage in aggregated form. Examples include: language preferences, chosen mode (dark/light), anonymised session ID, cookies consent. This data is used strictly for statistical performance, security and operational purposes. This information cannot be linked to your health-related answers to determine your identity.
- Use and processing of collected information
KamaLama uses a secure, privacy-first approach to calculate your health insights:
- While you take the test or use BMI calculator, your answers are saved locally on your device only;
- When you finish, your answers are sent once to KamaLama’s server as a request to calculate your result;
- Our engine (model) processes your answers, calculates your results, and sends them back to your browser;
- Your report is then displayed on your device — and only saved locally.
We never store your answers, reports, or personal data. Once results are shown, all data remains on your device and is not retained by KamaLama.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To enable the questionnaire, calculation mechanism and displaying your result in your browser.
- To monitor and analyse how the Service is used, detect and prevent abuse, fix bugs and improve the Service.
Because we do not store your answers or reports or personal identifiers, we cannot reconnect your input to you once the result is delivered.
We rely on user’s consent as a base upon which we collect and process your information.
- Disclosure of information
The health information you provide on the Website is only sent once to KamaLama’s server as a request to calculate your result. The result is calculated and sent to your device for displaying, but your answers, reports and provided health information are not stored by KamaLama.
Depending on your consent given for the use of Cookies, we rely on the analytics tool Google Analytics 4 in an anonymised form (without linking to your answers or any identifying information) to improve our website. We do not share your answers or reports with this tool. We will not share any information with unaffiliated third parties.
- Storage, retention and deletion of information
Your questionnaire answers and generated report are not stored on KamaLama’s servers, except for the single submission to the calculation engine. After the result is returned to your browser, no copy of your answers or report is retained by us.
Your local device may store your report locally (in browser or local storage) at your discretion.
For retention of information on system data and cookies please read Cookie Policy.
- Transfer of information
Depending on your location, data transfers may involve transferring and storing your information in a country other than your own. Because we use third-party analytics tool Google Analytics, certain limited technical data may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside your country of residence.
Such transfers are carried out only for website analytics and performance monitoring. We do not transfer your questionnaire answers or health-related information to these providers. The transfer is happening only if you have given your explicit consent for the use of Cookies.
-
Data security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the minimal data we process from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet or storage is completely secure. If you believe your use of the Service is compromised, please contact us.
-
Your rights
Due to the fact the Service does not collect your identifying information and does not link your answers or report to you, our ability to offer certain data-subject rights (such as data-portability, deletion) may be limited. Nevertheless:
- You may withdraw your consent for non-essential cookies at any time;
- If you have general questions about privacy at KamaLama or believe that our Service might inadvertently process identifiable data, you may still contact us, and we will review and address your concern as best we can;
- If in future we change our processing such that identifying personal data is collected, we will notify users and update this Policy accordingly.
- Privacy of children
We do not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, please do not submit any Information through the Website and Services. If you believe a child has used the Service, please note that no personal information or identifiable data would have been transmitted or stored by KamaLama.
- Social media features
After you complete the test or BMI calculations, you may optionally share a link to kamalama.org via your e-mail client or social-media platforms, such as Facebook, X, Whatsapp, Telegram etc (collectively, “Social Media Features”). If you are choosing to do so, you are initiating a share action via your device/platform. The website does not collect your e-mail address, social media account identifier or other direct personal identifier as part of that share process. Your interactions with these Social Media Features are governed by the privacy policy of their respective providers.
- Links to other resources
The Website and Services contain links to other resources that are not owned or controlled by us. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other resources or third parties. We encourage you to be aware when you leave the Website and Services and to read the privacy statements of each and every resource that may collect Personal Information.
- Data breach
Because we do not collect or store personal or identifiable information, the risk of a data breach involving such information is extremely low. In the unlikely event of a security incident affecting our systems, we will investigate promptly, take appropriate remedial action, and, where legally required, inform relevant authorities.
- Changes and amendments
