At KamaLama.org, we use cookies to enhance your experience, understand how visitors use our site, and improve our content. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control your preferences.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember user preferences and collect usage data to improve functionality and performance.
2. What Data KamaLama Collects Automatically
KamaLama automatically creates and stores several essential cookies to ensure proper operation of the website. These do not require user consent and contain no personally identifiable information.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention period | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| locale | Saves the selected language preference | 1 year | Stores the language preference chosen by the user |

| kl | Session identifier | Duration of the session on your browser | A randomly generated ID used for temporary session operations, not linked to personal data |

These cookies are required for the KamaLama.org to work and cannot be disabled.
3. Analytics and Performance Cookies (Used Only with Your Consent)
If you consent to analytics cookies, KamaLama uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site and to improve performance and content.
When Google Analytics cookies are enabled, the following GA cookies are stored:
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention period | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | General analytics identifier. Used to send data to Google Analytics about the visitor's device and behavior. | 2 years | A unique, randomly generated ID used to distinguish users |
| _ga_CC1MH25F59 | GA specific identifier. Used to send data to Google Analytics about the visitor's device and behavior. | 2 years | A unique ID for the specific GA, used to persist session state |
Analytics cookies collect only anonymized identifiers. KamaLama does not associate these identifiers with health data that users provide during the test or BMI calculations, nor does it sell or share user data with third parties.
If analytics are enabled, KamaLama sends event data to Google Analytics, including:
- page visited — when a page view occurs, name of specific action and URL of the visited page;
- click events — grouped button or link clicks (e.g., “answer option clicked,” not the specific text);
- test started / test finished — when a user begins or completes a test;
Additionally, the following technical parameters are collected by Google Analytics:
- Device characteristics;
- Page URL and title;
- GA Identifiers (as described above).
These cookies are necessary to:
- Understand how visitors use our site;
- Identify and fix bugs and errors;
- Improve our website content and flow;
- Measure conversion rates.
All data collected is aggregated and anonymized. We do not collect, store, share, or sell any personal information. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising, profiling, or behavioral targeting. The Cookies sent to Google Analytics cannot be used to reconstruct a user’s answers, test results, identity, or health information.
